TERRELL, Texas — The Terrell Police Department finalized and issued the 2016 End of Year Awards last week, giving honor and recognition to several staff members for a job well done.
Interim Chief of Police Ken McKeown and Command Staff members presented several officers and civilians last week with multiple awards ranging from Letters of Commendation from citizens praising officer’s conduct to more official department awards, including 2016 Officer of the Year and 2016 Civilian of the Year.
Officer Travis Williams, son of Forney Police Department Officer Mike Williams, was named 2016 Officer of the Year and Cindy Hunter was named 2016 Civilian of the Year.
Captain A.D. Sansom received a Police Commendation bar and Officer Luke Brewer received a Police Life Saving bar.
The Unit of the Year went to Patrol Shift 1 which includes Sergeant Micheal Bulin, Corporal Jason Tidwell, and Officers James Hamil, Luke Brewer, and Travis Williams.
Certificate of Merit awards were presented to Investigator David Bridges, Sergeant Brian Scott, and Officers Dock Ballard, Nathan Hauger, Miguel Sanchez x2, James Melton, Chris Lee x2, and Travis Williams.
Letter in Files were presented to Sergeant Joe Hobbs, Corporals Guadalupe Gonzales and Jeremy Mack, Officers Samuel Palmer x2, Weston Tramel, Steven Johns x2, Miguel Sanchez, Steven Mac, and Travis Williams, and Mary Terry.
