TERRELL—On Thursday, May 23rd, the Terrell State Hospital will offer an English and Spanish information session on what the new hospital means to the community.
The Terrell State Hospital, an important piece of the community since its opening in 1885, provides coverage for nearly 20 counties, including Dallas, Ellis, Kaufman, Rockwall, and Van Zandt.
In recent years, the Texas Legislature has worked to provide funding for state hospitals, and Terrell is getting a 250-bed replacement hospital, with construction set to begin this year. The 88th Texas Legislature approved $573 million for this effort.
The community is invited to a Q&A session at the Terrell State Hospital Gym, 1200 E. Brin St, Terrell, on May 23rd from 6-7 p.m.
