CRANDALL, Texas — Farm-to-Market (FM) 148 has reopened near Murphy Lake following a fiery, head-on collision Monday afternoon.
The crash was reported at approximately 2:30 p.m. on FM 148 between County Road (CR) 4104 and Fall Brook Drive — near Murphy Lake southeast of the city limits of Crandall.
The impact of the collision forced one vehicle partially on top of a guardrail and the other to engulf in flames.
Upon arrival of the Crandall Fire Department, firefighters reported one vehicle fully engulfed in fire.
Three people were reportedly injured in the crash with what were described as non-life threatening injuries.
The Crandall Police Department, Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, Kaufman County Fire Marshal’s Office, and CareFlite also responded to the scene.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
