KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — A Tornado Watch has been issued for Kaufman County until 1 a.m., according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas.
KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — A Tornado Watch has been issued for Kaufman County until 1 a.m., according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas.
“Thunderstorms are expected to initiate across northwestern portions of the watch area by 6:00 PM CDT and track east and southeast,” stated the NWS.
“Conditions are favorable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes,” the NWS stated. “In addition to the tornado threat, storms may also produce wind gusts in excess of 60 MPH, hail larger than two inches in diameter, and heavy rainfall leading to flash flooding.”
“People in and around the watch area are advised to monitor weather conditions closely and be prepared to act should a warning be issued for their area,” stated the NWS.
