Tornado Watch issued for Kaufman County until 11 p.m.

KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, has issued a Tornado Watch for 12 counties in North and Central Texas, including Kaufman County, for Sunday evening.

KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, has issued a Tornado Watch for 12 counties in North and Central Texas, including Kaufman County, for Sunday evening.

A Tornado Warning was also issued for portions of southeast Kaufman County at 6:41 p.m. and will remain in effect until 7:15 p.m.

This dangerous storm will be near Gun Barrel City, Tool, Seven Points and Enchanted Oaks around 6:50 p.m., Mabank and Eustace around 7 p.m., and Purtis Creek State Park around 7:05 p.m.

The Tornado Watch is in effect until 11 p.m.

"A Tornado Watch is issued when conditions are favorable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes," according to the NWS.

"In addition to the tornado threat, there is also a threat for damaging wind gusts," states the NWS.

People in and around the watch area should stay tuned to the latest weather information and should be prepared to act should a warning be issued for their location.
