COLLEGE MOUND, Texas — A Monday fire destroyed a travel trailer in eastern Kaufman County as firefighters worked to save a nearby structure.
At approximately 4:38 p.m., the College Mound Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire in the 11800 block of Farm-to-Market (FM) 429 with mutual aid from the Terrell and Elmo Volunteer Fire Departments.
The travel trailer, which was being used as a primary residence, was fully involved upon firefighters arrival. Firefighters extinguished the fire and saved a nearby structure from encroaching flames.
The structure was full of hay and sustained minor damage.
No injuries were reported in the fire.
Firefighters were on scene for approximately an hour and 45 minutes.
