KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The Trinity Valley Electric Cooperative (TVEC) is warning its customers of recent phone scams attempting to gain customers’ personal account information.
KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The Trinity Valley Electric Cooperative (TVEC) is warning its customers of recent phone scams attempting to gain customers’ personal account information.
Several members, according to the cooperative, have received calls from an individual claiming to represent “the electric company” and have requested personal information from the members.
“Please note that TVEC member services representatives will never request a call back to a mobile phone,” TVEC stated on Wednesday. “If you question the validity of a call, you may always contact us directly at (800) 766-9576.”
“If you suspect that you have been targeted by a scammer, you may also contact local law enforcement,” stated TVEC.
