TERRELL, Texas — The bodies of two men have been recovered after a boating accident in the Poetry area on Wednesday night.

Just after 7 p.m., several Kaufman County-area fire departments responded to the 10800 block of County Road 243, near County Road 249, in the Poetry area, north of Terrell, for a water rescue.

Specific details of the boating accident were not clear Wednesday night.

The Kaufman County Sheriff's Office identified the deceased as 51-year-old Eric Knight and 32-year-old Brandon Stayton.

The Terrell Volunteer Fire Department, Terrell Fire Department, Forney Fire Department, Kemp and Mabank dive team, the Seagoville Swift Water Rescue Team, Ables Springs Volunteer Fire Department, Texas Game Wardens, Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, CareFlite, and the Kaufman County Office of Emergency Management have responded to the scene.
