TALTY, Texas — Two vehicles overturned in a crash on Interstate 20 near Talty early Monday morning.
Around 1:30 a.m., the Forney Fire Department, CareFlite, Mesquite Fire Department, and Mesquite Police Department responded to eastbound Interstate 20 between Farm-to-Market (FM) 741 and FM 2932, which is located in the city limits of Mesquite.
A pickup truck and a car were involved in the crash. The pickup truck overturned down an embankment on the shoulder of the highway just east of FM 741. Approximately 100 yards east of the overturned truck, the car overturned in the median of the highway.
The driver and passenger in the pickup truck were uninjured. The driver of the car sustained minor, superficial injuries and, after a field sobriety test, was arrested by the Mesquite Police Department on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
As of 2:14 a.m., the left lane of Interstate 20 is closed just west of FM 2932.
The Mesquite Police Department is investigating the crash.
