TxDOT awards two contracts for $10.4 million in road and bridge projects in Kaufman County

KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas -- The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has awarded two contracts, totaling $10.4 million, for road improvements and a bridge replacement in Kaufman County.

KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas -- The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has awarded two contracts, totaling $10.4 million, for road improvements and a bridge replacement in Kaufman County.

"In an ongoing effort to enhance state roadways and improve safety, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) approved a contract to improve pavement and replace a bridge in separate locations," stated TxDOT in announcing the contracts.

A $9.1 million contract to mill and overlay new pavement on Interstate 20 from State Highway 34 to the Van Zandt County line was awarded to Oldcastle Materials Texas, Inc.

A $1.3 million contract to replace the bridge and approaches on Farm-to-Market 148 at the Kings Creek tributary was awarded to Stateline Construction, LLP.

Construction dates will be established in upcoming meetings between TxDOT and the contractor.
