FORNEY, Texas — The Texas Department of Transportation recently added new turn configurations to two intersections on Farm-to-Market (FM) 1641 and FM 548 in Forney and provided inForney.com with an update on the traffic signal on FM 548 at Falcon Way.
TxDOT recently restriped northbound FM 1641 to add a left turn bay at its intersection with FM 548. The restripping will allow southbound FM 548 traffic to stack in a designated turn bay instead of in the flow of traffic.
Additionally, TxDOT reconfigured one of the northbound FM 548 through lanes at the westbound service road of U.S. Highway 80, under the overpass, to be a left turn or through lane.
The traffic signal which was previously approved for the intersection of FM 548 and Falcon Way, which services North Forney High School traffic, is estimated to be complete by the end of the year, TxDOT spokesperson Michelle Releford told inForney.com.
“The signal at FM 548 and Falcon Way has been designed and assigned to a contractor,” stated Relefrod. “Materials have been ordered and we are currently waiting on the fabrication.”
