FORNEY, Texas — The Texas Department of Transportation is planning an hour closure of westbound U.S. Highway 80 in Forney next week.
Weather permitting, on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, from 1 a.m. until 2 a.m., the closure will occur on westbound U.S. Highway 80 east of Farm-to-Market (FM) 460, also known as Clements Drive.
The FM 460 exit from westbound U.S. Highway 80 and the onramp to westbound U.S. Highway 80 will also be closed.
During the hour closure, traffic will be stopped intermittently on the highway for up to 15 minutes in order to gather data for future design and repairs, according to Texas Department of Transportation spokesperson Michelle Releford.
“Backups will occur and motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes,” stated Releford.
