TERRELL, Texas — The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has awarded a contract to convert an existing county road in to a Farm-to-Market (FM) road which will improve highway connectivity in northern Kaufman County.
The $4.8 million contract, awarded to Ed Bell Construction, will convert County Road 322 into a two-lane FM road between FM 986 in Poetry, Texas, and State Highway (SH) 34, just north of Terrell, Texas. The new road will be named FM 3486.
“This improved roadway will establish connectivity of the state highway system in the northern part of Kaufman County,” TxDOT stated.
The work zone is expected to be established in mid-July.
