KAUFMAN, Texas — The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will host a pubic meeting later this month to introduce the State Highway (SH) 34 feasibility study.

The study proposes, among other things, a four-lane divided roadway between Farm-to-Market (FM) 2578 in Terrell to SH 243 in Kaufman.

"This study will evaluate and analyze possible solutions and alignments for a four-lane divided roadway," stated a release from the TxDOT. "The purpose of this study is to improve safety and mobility on SH 34, as well as address traffic flow concerns due to the growth of Terrell, Kaufman, and surrounding cities."

The meeting will be held at the Kaufman High School cafeteria located at 3205 South Houston Street in Kaufman on Thursday, June 28, 2018, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The meeting's format will be an open house format with no formal presentation. Attendees are able to come and go at their convenience and ask questions of TxDOT staff members.

Maps of the proposed alignments, as well as other project documents, will be available for review.
