FORNEY, Texas — Several highway closures are expected Friday and Saturday as crews begin repairing the Pinson Road bridge which was damaged last month.

FORNEY, Texas — Several highway closures are expected Friday and Saturday as crews begin repairing the Pinson Road bridge which was damaged last month.

On April 4, 2018, a rock-hauler, with its dump trailer raised, was traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 80 when it struck the Pinson Road bridge.

Beginning tomorrow, the Texas Department of Transportation will begin repairing the overpass, according to a notice from the City of Forney.

The left lane on eastbound U.S. Highway 80 near the Pinson Road bridge will be closed on Friday, June 1, 2018, from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

Beginning 7 p.m. on Friday, both eastbound lanes will be closed and traffic will be directed onto the service road via the Pinson Road and Broad Street exit. Traffic will re-enter the highway at the entrance ramp east of Pinson Road.

Both lanes are expected to be closed until Saturday at 6 a.m.

The new eastbound entrance ramp just west of Pinson Road is expected to be closed for three weeks. Motorist should us the entrance ramp east of Pinson Road to enter the highway during the closure.

According to the City of Forney, police officers will be on scene to direct traffic and the service road will remain open throughout the repair process.
