Utility pole topples in single-vehicle crash, FM 740 closed

FORNEY, Texas — A utility pole snapped at its base after a truck struck it on Farm-to-Market (FM) 740 on Friday night.

The pole fell across FM 740 just south of McMahan Lane which forced the closure of the roadway.

Several area homes west of FM 740 in the area are experiencing power outages, according to neighbors speaking to inForney.com.

One person was transported to an area hospital with what were described as non-life threatening injuries.

At 8:30 p.m., Oncor emergency crews arrived on scene. Approximately 317 customers are effected by the outage, according to Oncor.

FM 740 southbound has been closed at Pecan Lane. Its unknown how long the roadway will remain closed.
