FORNEY, Texas — The relocation of some utilities which halted the Trinity Street project are now underway and construction is expected to continue once the relocation has been completed.

Relocation of Suddenlink and AT&T cable lines as well as Atmos gas lines previously halted the project in late 2016.

Last week, during the Tues. night city council meeting, city council members and city officials weighed notifying the utility companies the work would be subbed out to other contractors and billed to their respective companies.

Wednesday afternoon, City Manager James Fisher tells inForney.com a majority of the Atmos relocation has now been complete and the relocation of Suddenlink and AT&T cable lines will begin soon.

Suddenlink and AT&T are expected to begin relocation their cables sometime this week and are expected to be complete within three weeks, according to a notification sent out by the City of Forney earlier today.

No service outages are expected, according to the notification.

Fisher says, weather and relocation permitting, the project is expected to be complete in May 2017.
