FORNEY, Texas — Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper III Danny Shaw, who was shot last week on Texas-Mexico border assignment, was welcomed home yesterday.
FORNEY, Texas — Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper III Danny Shaw, who was shot last week on Texas-Mexico border assignment, was welcomed home yesterday.
Shaw was flown by CareFlite plane to the Mesquite Municipal Airport after spending several days in a McAllen, Texas, hospital following the shooting incident on November 25, 2016. After landing in Mesquite, Shaw was transported to Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, for additional treatment before his release and return home to Forney yesterday.
Shaw was welcomed back to the DFW area by a flank of law enforcement vehicles on the Mesquite Metro Airport tarmac on Monday night.
Wednesday afternoon, Shaw was escorted back to his Forney home were he will continue his recovery.
A fundraiser is scheduled for Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at Chili’s in Forney. With every flyer presented, see below, 15 percent will be donated to the Shaw family. The fundraiser will be held from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m.
