FORNEY, Texas — A vehicle fire casued delays on eastbound U.S. Highway 80 on Friday afternoon.
The fire was reported at approximately 12:50 p.m. on eastbound U.S. Highway 80 just east of the Farm-to-Market (FM) 460 overpass. The fire began in the vehicle’s engine bay.
Eastbound U.S. Highway 80 was temporarily closed while firefighters extinguished the fire. The left lane reopened moments ago.
Its unknown at this time what caused the fire.
The driver was able to safely evacuate the vehicle without suffering any injuries.
Expect lingering delays in the area. Both lanes of eastbound U.S. Highway 80 were cleared at approximately 1:22 p.m.
