KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — Below is a video compilation of photos and video along the East Fork Trinity River through Kaufman County on May 30, 2015.
The video begins at the East Fork Trinity River near U.S. Highway 80, just south of Lake Ray Hubbard which was releasing more than 20,000 cubic feet per second, according to a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers report.
Moving south, the next portion of the video is shot on East Malloy Bridge Road between Forney, Texas, and Seagoville, Texas. The road was closed due to high water.
Aerial drone video was provided by Josh Ragsdale over Farm-to-Market (FM) 3039 in Combine, Texas. The National Weather Service in Fort Worth, Texas, has issued a Flood Warning for this area due to increased water release from upstream reservoirs. The flood stage in the area is 18 feet, according to the NWS, and at 9 p.m. on Saturday was at a stage of 20.64. The stage is expected to crest at 24 feet Sunday evening.
Ragsdale, a 1998 Forney High School graduate, currently lives in Combine and is the head football coach and athletic director at Dallas Adamson High School where he typically uses the drone for football practice. Ragsdale's video was shot around 8:45 p.m. generally looking west.
The video ends at the State Highway 34 bridge near Rosser, Texas. The flood stage in this area is 31 feet. At 8:30 p.m., Saturday, the stage was at 36.71 and expected to increase to 42 feet by Tuesday afternoon.
