KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service in Fort Worth, Texas, has issued a Wind Advisory for portions of North Texas, including Kaufman County, as storms sweep across the region.

The Wind Advisory will be in effect from midnight until 7 a.m. Wednesday with another round of gusty wind expected later tomorrow evening.

Sustained wind speeds of 20 to 25 miles per hour are expected with gusts of 35 to 40 miles per hour, according to the NWS.

Possible impacts include potentially hazardous driving conditions, especially for high-profile vehicles, and boaters should use extra caution when venturing onto area lakes. Residents should also expect light outdoor objects to be blown around.

According to the NWS, damaging winds are the primary hazard with tonight's storms but, a brief tornado could also accompany the line of storms.

Strong thunderstorms are expected Wednesday morning with primary hazards of gusty winds and frequent lightning. The storms will move east of the region by midday Wednesday.
