Woman airlifted following horse-riding incident

KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — A Kaufman County woman was airlifted to a Dallas-area hospital on Friday night following a horse-riding incident.

KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — A Kaufman County woman was airlifted to a Dallas-area hospital on Friday night following a horse-riding incident.

At 6:03 p.m., the College Mound Volunteer Fire Department (CMVFD) and CareFlite responded to a pasture in the 1600 block of Dogpatch Drive in eastern Kaufman County for a woman seriously injured during a horse-riding incident, according to CMVFD Safety Officer Terry Van Sickle.

“Due to the nature of the emergency, firefighters placed a medical helicopter on standby,” stated Van Sickle.

Upon arrival, firefighters began emergency care and requested the air ambulance to the scene.

“Firefighters worked alongside CareFlite medics in stabilizing the patient,” stated Van Sickle.

The woman was transported to a cul-de-sac at the end of Dogpatch Drive where the awaiting helicopter airlifted her to a Dallas-area hospital.

The woman’s current condition is unknown.
