Just before midnight, the Mesquite Police Department, Forney Fire Department, and CareFlite responded to a tree line separating homes on Cimarron Trail and a pasture off Interstate 20.
A woman allegedly drove off Interstate 20, drove several hundred feet through a pasture, and struck several trees near a Cimarron Trail resident’s detached structure.
The woman sustained what were described as non-life threatening injuries and was transported by CareFlite ambulance to an area hospital.
Police say the woman may have been attempting to harm herself when she drove off the highway with intent to strike an object.
No other passengers were in the vehicle.
The Mesquite Police Department is investigating the crash.
