FORNEY, Texas โ€” Forney High School's homecoming king and queen were crowned on Friday night before a home football matchup against the Midlothian Panthers.

FORNEY, Texas โ€” Forney High School's homecoming king and queen were crowned on Friday night before a home football matchup against the Midlothian Panthers.

Leading the homecoming court as the 2020-21 Forney High School King and Queen were Joey Cortez and Ellie Russell.

Despite a strong statistically offensive showing and a 13-8 lead in the first quarter, the Jackrabbits lost their homecoming matchup, 49-13, to Midlothian.

Forney's Jake White threw for 113 yards and rushed for another 39 andย  touchdown. Jaylyn Phillips rushed for 142 and a touchdown. Jon'Richard Washington rushed for 94 yards and Aaron Mount for three while Brayden Kirkland received for 57, Andrew Gafrord for 21, Ronnie Harrison for 15, Zachary Fuller for 10, Braden Benjamin for nine, and Phillips for one.

The Jackrabbits move to 0-2 on the season as they prepare for an away matchup against Texas High School on Friday, October 9, 2020, at Texarkana Tiger Stadium at Grim Park. The following week, the Jackrabbits take-on cross-town rival North Forney High School in the Unity Bowl.
