Vicki Lee Grisham, 52, was sentenced on Thursday to nearly three years in federal prison after pleading guilty to charges of theft and embezzlement. The sentencing was announced by Leigha Simonton, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas.

U.S. District Judge James Wesley Hendrix imposed a 33-month prison term and ordered Grisham to pay restitution of $800,755.63 to the bank’s insurer. Following her prison sentence, she will also serve five years of supervised release.

Court documents reveal that Grisham, who was entrusted with a credit card for business-related expenses, misused the card to fund personal expenditures unrelated to her role at the bank. These unauthorized purchases included vacations, meals at restaurants, clothing, college tuition, and payments for her personal income taxes. The fraudulent activity was uncovered in March 2023 when bank management realized the extent of her misuse of bank resources.

On the day she was confronted about the misconduct, Grisham admitted to making unauthorized charges for her benefit and that of her family.

As part of her plea agreement, Grisham will also face an FDIC Order of Prohibition, which will bar her from future employment with any FDIC-insured financial institution.

The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Dallas Field Office, and the case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Ann Howey.
