School and public safety enhancements are a priority. Voters will decide on rerouting sales tax to fund a new Crime Control Prevention District, with benefits for Police and Fire departments already integrated, including new staff positions, and improved wages.
Economic growth is acknowledged yet cautiously managed with plans expecting no increase in building permit revenue due to economic uncertainties. However, the City plans to expand staff by 18.5 new roles to support increased demands.
In terms of utilities, citizens will see a 4.3% increase in water rates and a 21.5% rise in sewer rate charges due to increased service costs. There’s also a potential 5% hike in solid waste fees. Despite these, the city maintains a surplus, allocating funds for major capital improvements and special events.
