Coleman had previously attended Terrell High School in 2023, prior to his shooting and killing of Damaria Jackson, 17. On August 16, 2023, Coleman rode the school bus with a loaded firearm to Terrell High School, despite having been expelled and subsequently withdrawn from school just two days prior. Coleman intercepted Damaria Jackson, a Terrell High School Senior, while Jackson was walking to school. Coleman shot Jackson three times and then fled the scene, leaving the victim deceased on the sidewalk.
