FORNEY, Texas — Building permits in Forney have been issued for two new restaurant options, ER and Urgent Care facilities, and two commercial buildings, according to the Forney Economic Development Corporation.
The restuarnat options approved for building permits were OISHII Ramen Bar and Brunch Room Bistro.
OISHII Ramen Bar proposes building at 305 Marketplace Blvd, located in Victory Shops, for commercial buildout/remodel/addition.
Brunch Room Bistro is proposing commercial buildout/remodel/addition for its new location at 123 East U.S. Highway 80. Brunch Room Bistro is described as soul food and its menu features, among other things, shrimp and grits, pot roast potato bowl, and a Waygu burger.
A new Forney ER is proposing a new building permit at 1325 S FM 548 and an iCare Urgent Care facility is proposing a commercial buildout/remodel/addition at 1327 S FM 741.
Two other commercial building permits were issued for Forney Crossings Building A and Building B at 415 S FM 548.
In other recent development news across the county, Kohl's and Mo Bettahs Hawaiin Style Food opened in Forney and Chuy's Tex-Mex announced its opening date of December 5, 2023, in Terrell. A QT is proposed in Kaufman and Tom Thumb's Forney construction will soon go vertical.
In September, Nothing Bundt Cake was announced in Forney and has since officially opened its doors, along with CAVA. Dutch Bros is expected to open later this year.
