FORNEY, Texas — The City of Forney Economic Development Corporation (EDC) recently announced the approved September Commercial Permits. Nell Rhea Intermediate School’s addition and the European Wax Center were among those permits.
Project Owl has three buildings that received their permits. Located behind to Walmart and the AMC theatre, the buildings also come with an extension of Ridgecrest Road, which, according to the release, should help alleviate truck congestion from FM 548.
European Wax Center on Marketplace Boulevard received their finish out/remodel/addition permit. United Barbers LLC received its remodel permit.
Nell Rhea Intermediate School on Monitor Drive received its remodel/addition permit. According to Forney ISD, the addition will include a cafeteria expansion, gymnasium, and fine arts center. The gymnasium will also serve as a storm shelter.
Adding to the excitement, the Forney EDC gave special attention to Dutch Bro’s Coffee, which is said to be coming later this year.
“The highly anticipated Dutch Bros will be hitting our permit list later this year,” noted the Facebook release.
In July, the EDC announced Nothing Bundt Cakes received their finish-out permit, as well as NobiliTea and Dorado Nail Bar.
Each month, the Forney EDC makes a release with the permits approved the month before. If the last few months are any indication, Forney is definitely on the move.
