Argument turns deadly shooting at Terrell club overnight

TERRELL, Texas — An argument at a Terrell club turned fatal shooting overnight, according to police.

At 2:02 a.m., on Sunday, December 3, 2023, the Terrell Police Department responded to a shots fired call in the 300 block of Farm-to-Market (FM) 148 at the Swinging Doors Saloon.

There, police say 34-year-old Nicholas Longoria of Terrell, Texas, and his girlfriend were involved in an argument with a group of men, which led to an altercation in the parking lot.

During the parking lot altercation, witnesses told police Longoria shot 27-year-old Bryan Squires, also of Terrell.

Squires was transported to Baylor, Scott & White Hospital in Forney, Texas, where he was pronounced deceased.

"Many witnesses were interviewed confirming the suspect as Longoria," stated police in a morning press release.

Longoria was arrested later Sunday morning from his vehicle on unrelated charges and has since been charged with murder. Booking and bond information was not available at the time of press.
