Dallas Police Department nabs Kaufman County murder suspect in attempted burglary, foot pursuit

FORNEY, Texas — The arrest of one of the three men accused in the murder of George Moss at his Forney-area home last month came after an attempted burglary and foot pursuit in Dallas, Texas, the Dallas Police Department stated in a Tuesday release.

FORNEY, Texas — The arrest of one of the three men accused in the murder of George Moss at his Forney-area home last month came after an attempted burglary and foot pursuit in Dallas, Texas, the Dallas Police Department stated in a Tuesday release.

Police say Jarvis Kimble, who has been charged with capital murder in connection with Moss’ death, attempted to break into a home in the 7700 block of Concordia Lane in Dallas, Texas, on December 15, 2015, with another man. The homeowner woke up to banging at the door, observed an individual on her surveillance system, and called 911.

“The suspects heard the homeowner scream as they were pounding on the door and fled the location,” stated the department.

The homeowner was able to provide a good description of the suspect vehicle which was located by responding officers. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the two men jumped from the vehicle after it stopped and attempted to flee on foot.

“Officers pursued the suspects and were able to take them both into custody,” stated the department.

Officers discovered Kimble was wanted in Kaufman County for capital murder.

“On November 28, 2015, Kimble shot a homeowner in the neck with a handgun while committing a burglary of habitation,” the department’s release stated. “The homeowner died at the scene.”

Kimble and the other man, identified as John Raymond Williams, confessed to attempting to burglarize the home on Concordia Lane. Williams was also wanted for burglary of a habitation by the Cedar Hill Police Department and a warrant for possession out of the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office.

Kimble was interviewed by Kaufman County detectives before being booked into the Lew Sterrett Jail by the Dallas Police Department with a $1.5 million bond for the capital murder charge.

18-year-old Henre Davis and 18-year-old Deion Young who have also been charged with capital murder in connection with the death of Moss.
