Just after 8:30 p.m., a man walking on Rambling Way called 911 and reported three individuals approached him, displayed a handgun, and attempted to take his cell phone and debit card.
The victim told police the individuals were unsuccessful in obtaining his cell phone and debit card due to passing vehicles interrupting the robbery.
The individuals were last seen heading southbound towards Ranch Road and the Ridgecrest Plaza shopping center at the intersection of Ranch Road, Ridgecrest Road, and Pinson Road.
The individuals were described as black males, possible juveniles, with pants and t-shirts of unknown color.
A Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter and the Precinct 2 Constables Office also responded to the scene as police officers attempted to establish a containment zone for a search.
Police are also canvassing the area for residential surveillance video which may have captured the individuals walking in the neighborhood prior to and after the aggravated robbery was reported. One 911 caller reported, citing a Facebook post, three individuals were captured on residential surveillance video walking in the 600 block of Fox Glen Drive.
