FORNEY, Texas — One of four defendants standing trial for capital murder in the death of George Moss at his Forney-area home has pled guilty, according to court officials.

Moss was found shot to death on his front porch in the 3200 block of Clear Springs Drive in the Windmill Farms neighborhood on November 28, 2015. Police say Moss suffered a single gunshot wound to the back of the head.

24-year-old Jarvis Kimble, 18-year-old Henre Davis, and 18-year-old Deion Young, all of Dallas, Texas, were each arrested and indicted for capital murder. 16-year-old Robert Deprieste Grayson, Jr., was also indicted for capital murder after being certified to stand trial as an adult in the case.

On August 29, 2016, after an announcement hearing before Kaufman County’s 86th District Court Judge Casey Blair, Young pled guilty to the offense of capital murder and is awaiting a sentencing hearing for which a date has not yet been set.

Kimble is scheduled for pre-trial in April 2017 with a jury trial date set for May 8, 2017.

Davis had an announcement hearing earlier this month and is scheduled for another in December. A trial date has not yet been set.

Grayson had an announcement hearing in late October and is scheduled for his next such hearing in January 2017.

According to an arrest affidavit, the four had intended to burglarized Moss’ home, which was picked at random. Moss was home alone at the time of the incident while his wife was Christmas shopping.
