KAUFMAN, Texas — Two Ferris residents were arrested early Monday morning after a 911 call of a burglary in progress turned into a police chase that ended in a crash.
KAUFMAN, Texas — Two Ferris residents were arrested early Monday morning after a 911 call of a burglary in progress turned into a police chase that ended in a crash.
At approximately 1:05 a.m., on Monday, October 21, 2019, the Kaufman Police Department responded to the 600 block of North Washington Street on a burglary in progress call.
The burglary suspects fled as officers responded. With direction from the 911 caller, officers located the suspect vehicle in the area.
A Kaufman police officer attempted to make a traffic stop but the suspect vehicle failed to yield to the officer, fled, later lost control, and crashed into a ditch.
Police arrested 36-year-old Albert Reynolds and 39-year-old Shanna Locke, both of Ferris, Texas.
After their arrest, Kaufman police responded to additional calls for burglary of a vehicle in the 400 block of South Houston. Police discovered items taken during these offenses were located in Reynold's vehicle.
Reynolds was booked into the Kaufman County Jail on charges for burglary of a vehicle, evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. Locke was booked on charges for tampering or fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. Bond information was not available at the time of press.
Police say the pair may face additional charges.
