FORNEY, Texas — The Forney High School Health Science Technology department partnered with the American Red Cross for a blood drive on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, and collected 89 units of blood from 119 donors.
FORNEY, Texas — The Forney High School Health Science Technology department partnered with the American Red Cross for a blood drive on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, and collected 89 units of blood from 119 donors.
The blood drive, which was open to the public and listed on the American Red Cross’ website, is one of many blood drives Health Science Technology students plan and organize each year in conjunction with the American Red Cross. The 89 units of blood collected can benefit approximately 267 people.
The next blood drive at Forney High School is planned for April 15, 2015. Donors can schedule an appointment to donate through the American Red Cross website once the drive is listed, by calling the American Red Cross at 1-(800) 733-2767, or by walking in during the drive.
Health Science Technology and Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) club members are eligible to receive a Red Cross “Red Cord” and pin to wear during their graduation ceremonies for donating blood three times, volunteering, and enlisting additional donors.
