According to district officials, Forney ISD Assistant Superintendent of Operations Dr. Brian Zemlicka has accepted a position with the Region VI Education Service Center in Huntsville, Texas – a move also recently made by former Forney ISD Superintendent Michael Holland.
Forney ISD's Director of Transportation Rick Geer will replace Zemlicka's role in a new Executive Director of Support Services role which will oversee the transportation, maintenance and housekeeping, child nutrition, and several other district departments.
North Forney High School Assistant Principal Tim Cook will replace Geer as the transportation director for the district.
The district also announced the hiring of Judith Webber as the new Executive Director of Innovative Learning. Webber will report to Assistant Superintendent of Accountability and Learning Dr. Justin Terry who was hired in June 2014. Webber and Terry both worked at Wylie ISD prior to their move to Forney ISD.
Interim Fine Arts Director Mario Luna has been approved by district officials to remain at the head of the Fine Arts department after the departure of Dan Green from that post.
In the technology department, the district announced Roger Geiger as the Director of Technology. Geiger previsouly served as the interim director after then-director Charlie Jackson accepted an executive director of technology position with Highland Park ISD.
Criswell Assistant Principal Theresa Hale has been named the new principal at the school after serving five years as an assistant.
The district moved Criswell Principal Jeff Hutcheson to Smith Elementary where he will again serve as a principal. Hutcheson will replace Dr. Amie Pennington who accepted a principal position in Garland ISD.
Hutcheson will work alongside Scott Rowe who is the assistant principal at Smith Elementary. Rowe was the assistant principal at Forney High School before moving to Smith Elementary at the end of the last school year.
