TERRELL, Texas — The Terrell ISD School Board Place 3 run-off going on today between incumbent Lisa Asher and challenger Cheryl Edwards, is the latest local election with allegations of voter fraud and voter harvesting by a Terrell woman.

On Friday, 422nd District Judge, Mike Chitty, ordered the City of Terrell, administrator of school board elections, to withhold from opening at least 18 ballots and any other absentee ballots that are suspected to be tied to accused voter harvester, Brenda Prince.

According to a petition filed by Terrell ISD School Superintendent Michael French, while the Attorney General’s office investigated the absentee ballots from the May 22 Republican primary runoff they also examined copies of the Application for Ballots by Mail for the Terrell ISD and City of Terrell elections. According to the suit, many were identified as being completed by Prince, “her name having been changed to ‘B.J. Prince,’ perhaps in attempt to avoid detection.”

The suit also alleges that previous court testimony revealed that Prince was employed by candidate, Cheryl Edwards.

Prince has been seen on multiple occasions, campaigning for Edwards with regards to this election says the suit and “evidence shows she intends to return ballots for this run-off.” Edwards is the wife of current Terrell city manager, Tory Edwards.

"We are doing all we can to ensure that fair election is being held," French said in an email statement to inForney.com

The sequestered ballots will remain unopened or counted until all parties reconvene before Judge Chitty on Tuesday, June 19. Representative’s of the state’s Attorney General office are expected to be present.

Any results from tonight’s election returns will remain unofficial until after the hearing.

Brenda Prince did not return inForney.com’s calls for comment as of press time.

This is a developing story.
