FORNEY, Texas — The Forney Education Foundation recently awarded a total of 30 grants worth $48,500 to 30 teachers in Forney ISD. Directors from the foundation visited each awarded teacher in their classroom on Wednesday, October 3 announcing the grants.
FORNEY, Texas — The Forney Education Foundation recently awarded a total of 30 grants worth $48,500 to 30 teachers in Forney ISD. Directors from the foundation visited each awarded teacher in their classroom on Wednesday, October 3 announcing the grants.
The grants were submitted by district teachers and awarded at campuses across the district.
On Monday, October 1, the foundation presented the check for the grants to the Forney ISD Board of Trustees at the board's regular monthly board meeting according to the district.
“The Forney Education Foundation was formed in 2004 to support the students and staff of Forney ISD,” Larry Coker, district spokesman said in a statement. “The foundation awards dual credit scholarships to Forney ISD high school students and teacher grants to Forney ISD teaches, administrators and staff members.”
