FORNEY, Texas — A 2013 Forney High School graduate is among 46 recipients of the Who’s Who award at Texas Woman’s University.
On March 23, 2017, Texas Woman’s University held a reception where 2013 Forney High School graduate Haley Penn was recognized as one of 46 recipients out of approximately 15,000 students in the 2016-17 group to receive the Who's Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges.
Penn, the daughter of John and Mary Penn of Forney, Texas, has been on the Dean’s list for the past six semesters while she studies to achieve her Master’s Degree in social work.
Penn is also involved in the Leadership Institute, is an active member of the Touchstone Honors Program, is the historian of the Omicron Delta Kappa, actively volunteers with the Helping Hands and Denton County MHMR Center, and was chosen to present research about children’s nutrition at the 2016 TWU Research Symposium.
“This is such an honor because it feels like my hard work, sleepless nights, and the absence from many fun events and occasions, has been recognized and appreciated by my nomination and election into Who’s Who,” Penn said.
