Forney High School percussion takes home top awards at the 20th Lone Star Drumline Classic

FORNEY, Texas โ€” Forney High School percussion students took home top awards at the 20th annual Lone Star Drumline Classic on November 12.

FORNEY, Texas โ€” Forney High School percussion students took home top awards at the 20th annual Lone Star Drumline Classic on November 12.

The students traveled to Marcus High School in Lewisville for the competition against 51 drumlines from across the state.

โ€œForney High School performed their 2016 production titled "aMAZEing" featuring music from Symphony no. 10 by Shostakovitch, Just The Way You Are by Bruno Mars, and Machine by William Bolcom,โ€ according to Forney Independent School District Fine Arts Director Mario Luna.

Forney High School took 1st place in the Silver Division II classification and was awarded the Outstanding Snares and Quads in their respective classification.

Additionally, Zachary Lewis won 1st place in the Keyboard Solo competition.

The Forney High School percussion section is instructed by Rob Lozano and assisted by Shannon Jacobs.
