FORNEY— Forney Senior Sara Brand was selected as a Junior to be a delegate to the Congress of Future Medical Leaders at the University of Massachusetts Lowell Campus from June 26th to 28th.
According to a release by the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists, “the Congress is an honors-only program for high school students who want to become physicians or go into medical research fields.”
Brand's nomination, a testament to her exceptional academic achievement, leadership potential, and unwavering determination to serve humanity in the field of medicine, was signed by none other than Dr. Mario Capeechi, a distinguished Nobel Prize winner and the Science Director of the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists. As a delegate, Brand will proudly represent Texas at this prestigious event.
Her parents, Richard and Gail Brand told inForney.com that they are proud of their daughter and support her educational dreams and goals.
“We couldn’t be more proud of Sara and her commitment to her education and following her dreams,” said Richard Brand. “We support her trip this week and look forward to seeing where her educational path takes her and the lives she impacts in the future.”
Joining students from around the country, Brand will hear from Nobel Laureates and National Medal of Science recipients, receive advice from Ivy League and top Medical School deans, listen to stories from living medical miracles, be inspired by her peers, and learn about cutting-edge advancements for the future of medicine and medical technology.
