Forney High School Student Council participates in 2016 Don’t Mess with Texas Trash-Off event

FORNEY, Texas (Forney Independent School District, Phillip Jenkins) – The Forney High School Student Council held a cleanup on April, 9, 2016, from 10 a.m. until noon for the 2016 Don’t Mess with Texas Trash-Off event.

FORNEY, Texas (Forney Independent School District, Phillip Jenkins) – The Forney High School Student Council held a cleanup on April, 9, 2016, from 10 a.m. until noon for the 2016 Don’t Mess with Texas Trash-Off event.

The Don't mess with Texas Trash-Off serves as Texas’ signature event for the Great American Cleanup, the nation's largest community improvement program, held annually from March 1 through May 31.

The Don't mess with Texas Trash-Off is part of the partnership between Keep Texas Beautiful and the Texas Department of Transportation. Participants received trash bags, volunteer giveaways, promotional items, and more to assist in facilitating their cleanup events.

During this signature event, The Forney High School Student Council cleaned up litter and debris on FM 548 between College Avenue and Grayhawk Drive.

The Forney High School Student Council meets every other Wednesday at 4 p.m., in the Ellen Brooks West Memorial Library Conference room.
