FORNEY, Texas – The bands for Forney High School and North Forney High School are marching into a new season preparing for the 2014-15 school year.

The North Forney High School band held their annual march-a-thon this past weekend, marching along streets in Windmill Farms, Diamond Creek, and Travis Ranch. Crowds lined the streets to watch the band perform. The band occasionally stopped for private lawn concerts.

β€œThe band worked on their marching fundamentals as well as performing for the crowds,” stated Forney Independent School District Director of Fine Arts Mario Luna.

The bands hold march-a-thons each year to raise money for band equipment, travel expenses, and other band expenses.

The Forney High School band will hold their march-a-thon this Saturday, August 16, 2014, and will march through the Trails of Chestnut Meadow and Fox Hollow neighborhoods. Their march-a-thon will end at the Mick Spellman Amphitheater with a free concert at noon.
