FORNEY, Texas (Forney Independent School District) – The Forney ISD Board of Trustees approved the hiring of a new Chief Financial Officer for the District during a workshop Board meeting on Thursday, Dec. 18. John Chase, the current Chief Financial Officer at Crandall Independent School District was hired by the Board to replace Lucas Janda who recently accepted the Chief Financial Officer position at Leander Independent School District in Leander, Texas.
FORNEY, Texas (Forney Independent School District) – The Forney ISD Board of Trustees approved the hiring of a new Chief Financial Officer for the District during a workshop Board meeting on Thursday, Dec. 18. John Chase, the current Chief Financial Officer at Crandall Independent School District was hired by the Board to replace Lucas Janda who recently accepted the Chief Financial Officer position at Leander Independent School District in Leander, Texas.
Chase began his career as an accountant with Canyon Independent School District in Canyon, Texas in 1996. In 2000 he was named the Business Manager for the Dimmitt Independent School District in Dimmitt, Texas. Prior to joining Crandall ISD, Chase was a Business Support Services Specialist with the Region XI Education Service Center in Fort Worth, Texas. He has served as the Chief Financial Officer at Crandall ISD for 11 years.
Chase received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas. Prior to earning his degree, he served in the United State Army for three years. He earned the designation of Registered Texas School Business Official in March 2003.
“I’m am very excited to be joining a very strong administrative team in Forney ISD and looking forward to working with new Superintendent Suzanne McWilliams,” Chase said. “I have followed Forney ISD’s financial situation closely over the past few years and I have been very impressed with what Mr. Janda has been able to accomplish regarding the District’s finances. He has developed a very strong financial structure for the District and I look forward to the opportunity to not only maintain that financial strength, but to also help the District grow as the student population increases over the next few years.”
Janda served as Forney ISD’s Chief Financial Officer since 2011.
“Mr. Janda has been a tremendous asset to Forney ISD over the past three years and he will certainly be missed,” Superintendent Suzanne McWilliams said. “Because of his knowledge, hard work and dedication, he leaves the District in a very strong financial state. We are very excited to have Mr. Chase join our team. I have every confidence that he will be able to not only help the District maintain its current financial strength, but to financially guide the District successfully now and to the future.”
