FORNEY, Texas — The 2016-17 Forney Independent School District Campus Teachers of the Year were announced on Monday, January 23, 2017.
“Congratulations to all of the teachers that were selected as their campuses most outstanding teacher this year,” the district stated.
The teachers were nominated and selected based on the following criteria:
The Campus Teacher of the Year should:
Seek to carry out FISD’s vision by "Inspiring Students through Innovative Education"
Have a strong sense of values, integrity, and professional ethics;
Be an exceptional dedicated, knowledgeable, and skilled teacher;
Inspire students of all backgrounds and abilities to learn;
Be dedicated to providing the highest level of education to all students;
Have the respect and admiration of students, and colleagues;
Be energetic, enthusiastic, and have a positive attitude;
Plan to continue in an active teaching status in FISD;
Serve as an instructional role model and leader on the campus
The district’s elementary and secondary Teachers of the Year will be announced on Monday, February 20, 2017.
