FORNEY, Texas — The Forney Independent School District's Board of Trustees have unanimously approved a new 15-year, $250,000 stadium naming rights deal with City Bank.
The district and City Bank originally entered into a naming rights agreement in 2003, becoming one of the first corporate-school partnerships to enter into an stadium naming rights agreement, according to Forney ISD.
The agreement was unanimously approved and adopted by the board at last night's meeting.
The $250,000 cash contribution will be used for stadium maintenance and upgrades, stated the district in announcing the deal.
“We’re proud to announce the continuation of our naming rights partnership with City Bank,” stated Forney ISD Superintendent Dr. Justin Terry. “City Bank Stadium unites our community around our student athletes, and we are appreciative of their continued commitment to our teams, our fans and our district.”
“This is a partnership we’ve always been proud of,” stated Phillip Glasson, City Bank Dallas Market President. “This venue and Forney ISD play such an important role in the community and showing our support in this way is something we’re happy to continue.”
“This was an easy decision for our board to continue a valued partnership,” Forney ISD Board of Trustees President Greg Pharris said. “For 15 years, we’ve rallied our ‘Forney Family’ (the Falcons and Jackrabbits) there. Now, City Bank Stadium will remain home.”
