FORNEY, Texas — Forney High School and North Forney High School, on Wednesday, announced their 2017 homecoming plans, events, and parades.
FORNEY, Texas — Forney High School and North Forney High School, on Wednesday, announced their 2017 homecoming plans, events, and parades.
North Forney High School’s homecoming football game is scheduled for Friday, September 15, 2016, at City Bank Stadium. Homecoming week will begin on Saturday, September 9, 2017, with homecoming extravaganza in the morning and a homecoming parade in the evening.
North Forney’s homecoming week will also include Spirit Week, a community pep rally at the North Forney practice field, college fair day, and a school-time pep rally. The homecoming dance is scheduled for Saturday, September 16, 2017.
Notably, this will be the first year the school will host a homecoming parade since the school opened in 2009.
“We are very excited about our homecoming plans for this year,” said North Forney High School Principal Courtney Peck. “We have a number of events and activities planned this year and I know our graduates are looking forward to the opportunity to come back home and attend the Homecoming Extravaganza and the first ever Homecoming Parade!”
Forney High School’s homecoming football game is scheduled for Friday, September, 29, 2017, and will also be played at City Bank Stadium.
Forney High School’s homecoming activities include, among other things, a homecoming parade, a community pep rally, and a school-time pep rally. Their homecoming dance is scheduled for Saturday, September 30, 2017.
“Homecoming at Forney High School has always been a very special time for our students and our alumni and we are looking forward to having another great homecoming week again this year,” said Forney High School Principal Steve Whiffen. “We are currently in the early planning stages. We will continue to work to make the week as special for all of our current students and graduates as possible.”
“Additional dates, times and details for both the Forney High School and North Forney High School homecoming events and activities will be made available when students return to school in August,” the district stated.
The first day of the 2017-2018 school year is Monday, August 21, 2017.
