FORNEY, Texas — North Forney High School Principal Dr. Jason Johnston has been named the new principal at Allen High School, the Allen Independent School District on Monday night.

FORNEY, Texas — North Forney High School Principal Dr. Jason Johnston has been named the new principal at Allen High School, the Allen Independent School District on Monday night.

The Allen Independent School District Board of Trustees made the appointment on Monday night, January 18, 2016, at their regularly scheduled board meeting.

Johnston had served as the principal at North Forney High School since 2014 when he replaced outgoing principal Dr. Joe Kucera.

"Dr. Johnston will make the transition from North Forney High School to Allen High School over the next few weeks," according to Forney ISD spokesperson Larry Coker. "Forney ISD has named North Forney High School Assistant Principal, Courtney Peck, as the school’s Interim Principal. The District will begin the search for a new principal for North Forney High School immediately."

"Forney ISD congratulates Dr. Johnston with this opportunity to advance in his career as the new principal of one of the largest high schools in the State of Texas," stated Coker. "His leadership and dedication to the students and staff of North Forney High School will be truly missed."

"Allen High School is the state’s largest high school in enrollment serving approximately 4,500 students in grades 10-12," according to Allen ISD. "The separate Lowery Freshman Center serves another 1,575 students."
