FORNEY, Texas — On Saturday, April 18, 2015, the North Forney High School Sapphire Strutters traveled to San Antonio, Texas, to compete in the Showtime International SeaWorld Drill Team Competition.
FORNEY, Texas — On Saturday, April 18, 2015, the North Forney High School Sapphire Strutters traveled to San Antonio, Texas, to compete in the Showtime International SeaWorld Drill Team Competition.
The Strutters had a very successful competition and earned the following awards:
Sweepstakes Team which is earned for receiving a 1st Division on each routine entered into the competition.
Judges Award which signifies that each individual judge awarded every routine a score of 92 or higher.
Applause Award for Choreography which is awarded by the judges for performances that have outstanding crowd appeal and above average level of difficulty.
For their overall contest performance, the Sapphire Strutters were named contest Grand Champions.
Additionally, Captain Marissa Rosales competed in the Solo division and was named High School Solo Champion. Crosby Elementary School student, Paige Phlieger, competed in the solo division and was named Elementary Solo Champion.
The Sapphire Strutters will be showcasing all of their contest routines and more at their annual Spring Show on May 2, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. and May 3, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. in the North Forney High School Performing Arts Center.
