TERRELL - Terrell ISD Superintendent Dr. Warnock has invited the community to a program celebrating Black History Month on February 27th at 10:30 a.m.

In this week's “Wednesdays with Warnock,” Superintendent Warnock was joined by Terrell High School CTE Teacher and Coach Stephen Ford, who is leading the program this year.

“I think any time you get a chance to impact our youth and community in whatever facet is a blessing and to do it for you guys has been an honor,” said Ford. “Watching the kids rehearse, watching the performances unfold, and the great work from the other committee members is just a blessing; it’s been real fun.”

The theme in 2024 is a “Gallery of Heroes,” which encourages the community to “be inspired by those who have shaped history, the arts, and education.” Ford emphasized that they want to help paint a picture for those who have induced freedom for all here in America. He also said that this allows students to be encouraged and find their potential through art and this learning experience.

The event on February 27th will include singing, dancing, theater, and the “Divine Nine.”

“We are so excited to celebrate Black History Month and to inspire our students to be heroes,” said Superintendent Warnock. “We welcome you to come and join us at 10:30 a.m. on February 27th as part of the celebration.”

The event will be held in the Jamie Foxx Performing Arts Center. To learn more about the event, visit www.terrellisd.org.
